We kicked off with a prologue in Český Krumlov
Wednesday marked the start of the competition, encompassing both the World Cup event and the Czech O-Tour summer series. Races were held in two blocks, morning and late afternoon, amidst the beautiful historic backdrop of Český Krumlov.
This extended sprint put the physical endurance of the nearly 1,300 participants to the ultimate test, with the challenge significantly heightened by tropical weather and temperatures climbing toward 35°C. Amidst this extreme heat, competitors had to navigate the narrow streets of the UNESCO-listed historic center at high speed using a highly detailed 1:4,000 scale map.
The race in Český Krumlov served as an excellent prelude to the subsequent stages of the Czech O-Tour series, which will take place alongside the upcoming World Cup events.
