Czech O-Tour 2025 locations: Summer in Moravský kras
Last week we introduced the location where the Czech O-Tour will take place in about a year. Today we will take a look at where the summer round will find its base.
Like the previous two years, the Czech O-Tour summer round will be connected with an international event taking place in Czechia. Next year the European Youth Orienteering Championships will be held in Brno and Morvský kras (Moravian Karst), and therefore the series will visit the Moravian capital and its surroundings.
A total of three races will be staged in this location, from July 18-20, 2025. Long, sprint and middle will take place directly in the terrain of the EYOC. As there is EYOC, full details will be revealed in EYOC Bulletin, but in the meantime you can study embargoed areas.
It follows that the forest races will take place in the Moravian Karst near the village of Křtiny, and the sprint in Brno – Lesná. The timetable will be adjusted to cheer on the best European competitors in the DH16 and DH18 categories, while at the same time it will be possible to race and also take trips around the area. The Macocha Abyss is more than 138.5 metres deep and is the largest abyss of its kind in the Czech Republic and Central Europe. It is located only 10 minutes by car from the area of the races. However, this is certainly not the only thing. The Moravian Karst will especially offer racers cooling off in the many caves and cave systems, and there are great cafes and bistros waiting for you in Brno, for example. Are you looking forward to it now?
In conclusion, we would just like to point out that there will be a limit on the number of competitors for this round, so it will not be a good idea to delay your registration. If you have paid for the whole series, you don’t have to worry about your starting place in this round.
