Czech O-Tour is here!

The first EYOC competitors are already arriving in Brno and the start of the GAPP Czech O-Tour spectator races is also approaching. We can’t wait to welcome you in Brno and Moravian karst (Moravský kras)… Here is a summary of the most important things you should know before the race.

Bulletin 2 Moravský kras

• You’ll be able to run the Czech O-Tour and cheer in the EYOC

• Beware, there are two starts on the first stage in Babice! But the route is common, only categories with longer courses go to a more distant start. We have prepared a shortened long and almost all categories have a refreshment control.
• The second stage will be a sprint and you will visit Brno – Lesná. Please park outside the race area and remember to properly zigzag between the artificial obstacles on the course.
• A middle distance race as the last one – you will run through the terrain of the European Youth Championships relay and there is nothing to worry about on the course except for the tricky route choices.
• Didn’t make the start list? Take advantage of the training sessions on Friday and Sunday or use the free places for the sprint race E2!
• We ordered great weather! At least partially… On Friday you’d better pack a raincoat and don’t forget to set up the club tent, on the weekend wear a headgear and sunglasses

• Kids won’t be bored in the arenas!
  • In Babice there will be an adventure orienteering race with challenges on the theme of The African Child’s Journey to School and everyone can look forward to a small prize.
  • Sporticus labyrint will be in a new way – 4 types of orienteering in one maze. Kids can do it, but also the adults will sweat a lot…
  • There will be a GAPP photo booth with free printables and a demonstration of weapons from the hustle and bustle wars.
  • There will be a children’s corner with Kubík in the race arena for the requisite time when parents are racing.
• Accompanying programme also outside the race time for everyone!
  • The orienteering bazaar will be here again!
  • On Saturday and Sunday you can try out the new encryption game from Cryptomania.
  • During the forest races you can borrow one of the best Str8 compasses for testing.
  • On Saturday we are preparing a photo workshop led by an experienced tutor, registration is via the Megapixel website.
  • Sport shops: O-RUN, Lucifer, Sporticus and Rituall.

We are competing!

We compete not only on the track, but also off the track. There are several chances to win throughout the Czech O-Tour!

• Competition with tourist brochure
  1. Get the Competition brochure about the Moravian Karst at the entrance to the arena or at the event office, visit all the places and win!
  2. Correctly connect the tourist attractions with a photo or contour profile of the place.
  3. Submit your answers to the Czech O-Tour presentation by July 20, 13:00.
  4. We will draw 3 winners from the correct answers when the winners are announced. The prize is a Duffelbag Mästarn, a Str8 compass and a Lucifer jersey
• With Lucifer in the cave: Take a photo of yourself in the cave with a Lucifer headlamp, share it on social media with the hashtag @luciferlights and you could win a brand new jersey.
• Hidden gift challenge: Keep an eye on social media @otour / @orun_official and you might just be the one to succeed in the hidden gift challenge, where we hide the prizes in the corners of the race arenas.
