5. 8. 2023

On Wednesday August 3, the second series of the Czech O Tour 2023 started with a sprint in Česká Lípa. In addition to their performances, the Czech O Tour participants contributed to the amazing atmosphere that accompanied the 57 teams competing in Orienteering World Cup Sprint Relays to the thrilling duels. The top of the day for the home crowd was the amazing 2nd place of the Czech team. All about the Sprint Relays is in the World Cup article.

The Czech Orienteering Tour race itself took place mostly in the area of Wednesday’s Sprint World Cup and so offered interesting route choices in the old town centre of Česká Lípa.

Almost 1400 competitors competed in the first stage and the results offered us big names like the bronze medalist from the World Championships in Denmark 2022, Dutch Eef van Dongen, who dominated the women’s elite. The men’s elite was won by Agervig Kristiansson Linus from IFK Goteborg.
