The final stage of the summer series tested the endurance and stamina

The fourth stage in Kokořínsko was accompanied by rain and sandstone rocks. More than a thousand competitors started on the long distance courses and after the persistent rain, even tougher conditions awaited them than on the previous day. But the Czech O Tour competitors were fighting these conditions not alone, because at the same time just in the neigbouring area, 300 athletes from 28 countries were fighting for World Cup points. But the national team runners were fighting not only on the World Cup course, but also on the Czech O Tour courses. The proof of that can be spotted in the results of the men’s elite, which was dominated by Reto Egger, Simon Hector (with the same time) and Jonatan Gustavsson in third. Lea Martanová won the women’s elite, taking the very valuable scalp of Norwegian Victoria Haestad Bjornstad, while Natalia Hiklová finished third.
