Czech O-Tour 2025 locations: Where will you run in autumn 2025?
We are starting to unveil the locations of the Czech O-Tour 2025 races. We are starting from the end, so we will first introduce where you will run in autumn 2025.
For the traditional autumn date we have chosen the mountains again. This time the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge in german). In recent years, a number of races in the Ore Mountains have taken place around Nejdek. However, we joined with clubs from Litvínov, Teplice and Ústí nad Labem and found a great location in the village of Lesná at 900 m above sea level located in the Ústí nad Labem region.
There have never been any races in the region, there is no orienteering map, and after the few runs our team has done in 2023 and 2024, we have concluded that it is literally a magnificent terrain: swamps, rocks, pools and much more. Like a Scandinavia in some places.
We are preparing two races, middle and long distance, on October 25–26, 2025. As with the recent Czech O-Tour in the Beskydy Mountains, the whole area offers plenty of tips for trips. For example, the Jezeří Castle offers a “nice” view of the entire mining area. Moreover, the Československá armáda quarry should be open to the public as a newly declared national natural monument from July 2025. The nearby Hláska lookout tower was built at the beginning of the 20th century and can see all the way to the Bohemian Central Highlands. A geopark, an arboretum, the Erzgebirge Folk House and a maze can be found directly in Lesná.
